Privacy

The short version. Your measurement data never leaves your device. Instrument names, serial numbers, reference values and readings are stored in your browser and are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. The only things we collect are a visit count and, if you allow it, standard web analytics.
Data controller
RadiMeter is an independent project, not a company and not affiliated with any standards body. It is operated by its author, who is also the data controller for the limited processing described below. You can reach us through the contact page.
Data held on your device
The tool runs entirely in your browser. Everything you type into it is written to your browser's local storage and read back from there:
- test setups and presets — title, instrument name, model, manufacturer, serial number, intended use, dates;
- every reading, reference value and background measurement you enter;
- your acceptance criteria and display settings;
- saved test history.
None of this is sent to a server. There is no account, no login and no sync. The Excel export is generated inside your browser and downloaded straight to your device. The practical consequence is worth stating plainly: if you clear your browser data, that history is gone — we cannot recover it, because we never had it. Export anything you need to keep.
Data collected
Server logs (always)
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records requests — IP address, user agent, the page requested and the time. These logs exist to serve the site and to deal with abuse and faults. We do not use them to build profiles, and we do not combine them with anything else. This processing is necessary to operate the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interests).
Visit counting and analytics (only if you allow it)
If you choose Allow on the consent banner, two things happen:
- Visit counter. A random identifier is stored in your browser and sent to our Supabase database so that repeat visits are not double-counted. It contains no personal data and is not linked to anything you enter in the tool.
- Google Analytics 4. Standard page-view measurement — pages visited, referrer, approximate region, device type. IP addresses are anonymised. This lets us see which parts of the beta are actually used.
If you choose Decline, or make no choice at all, neither of these runs: no identifier is created, no analytics cookies are set, and Google Consent Mode stays denied. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
Withdrawal and change of consent
This clears the stored decision and shows the banner again. Clearing your browser's site data has the same effect.

The first two are what makes the tool usable at all; they never leave your browser.
Third-party processors
- Vercel Inc. — hosting and delivery (server logs).
- Supabase Inc. — the visit counter database and the contact form, with your consent.
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4, with your consent.
Nothing else is requested from a third party when a page loads. The site loads no external fonts, scripts or stylesheets, so no other party sees your address simply because you opened a page here.
These providers operate outside the EEA in part; transfers rely on their standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Advertising
This site currently carries no advertising. We intend to fund it with contextual advertising once it leaves beta. When that happens this page will be updated first, and visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a certified consent management platform before any advertising cookie is set.
Data subject rights
Where the GDPR applies you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Where the CCPA applies you have the right to know and to delete, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.
In practice most of what you might ask us to delete is not ours to delete — it is in your browser, and clearing your site data removes it immediately. For server logs and analytics, contact us and we will act on it.
Retention
Server logs are kept for as long as our host retains them for operational purposes. Visit counter records are aggregate and are kept while the site runs. Google Analytics data is retained according to the property's setting, which we keep at the shortest option available.
Children
This is a professional tool for people who test radiation measuring instruments. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects consent, ask again.
